Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for three years now, and I'm finally getting consistent fenestration on the new leaves—it's incredibly satisfying to watch. I kept it in medium indirect light for the first couple of years with minimal results, but once I moved it closer to an east-facing window, the growth transformed. The aerial roots are wild too. Has anyone else noticed their Monstera takes a while to "settle in" before showing those characteristic splits?
