Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my snake plant for about eight months now and I'm still not entirely sure if I'm watering it right—I keep second-guessing myself because the soil looks dry but everyone says they hate overwatering. Mine seems happy enough with barely any attention, honestly. Has anyone else struggled with figuring out the watering schedule, or am I just overthinking this? I'd love to know how often others water theirs.
