My Monstera's been slow to fenestrate, and I finally figured out why—it wasn't getting enough indirect light where I had it. Moved it closer to the window last month and the new leaf actually came in with holes. Worth the experiment. I'm curious though, does anyone else find that fenestration takes longer in Mediterranean climates, or am I just impatient?
