My Ficus lyrata finally dropped its lowest leaf after three years, and honestly I'm relieved. I'd been fighting root rot from overwatering—such a common mistake in humid climates even though these are arid-adapted. Once I switched to a gritty, fast-draining mix and backed off the watering schedule, it stabilized. The new growth looks much healthier now. Has anyone else found success with these by treating them more like their natural habitat than a typical houseplant?
