I've had my ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) for three years now and only recently realized I was watering it far too often. The thing about arid-adapted species is they'd rather sit dry—I've actually had better growth since cutting back to once every three weeks. It's strange how something so tolerant can make you feel like you're neglecting it when you're really just finally listening to what it needs.
