I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about eight months now and I'm still figuring out the watering thing

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about eight months now and I'm still figuring out the watering thing. I know they're supposed to be drought-tolerant, but I got paranoid and overwatered mine early on—luckily it recovered once I backed off. Now I just wait until the soil is completely dry and it seems much happier. Has anyone else struggled with underwatering versus overwatering these, or is it just me being overly cautious?
