I've had my peace lily for about eight months now, and I'm finally getting the hang of it

I've had my peace lily for about eight months now, and I'm finally getting the hang of it. At first I thought it was dying because the leaves kept drooping, but then I realized it was just thirsty and being dramatic about it. Now I water when the soil feels dry an inch down, and it's actually thriving. Has anyone else found theirs to be weirdly particular about water consistency, or is mine just being extra?
